Georgetown: Monument Cafe

I promise I won't always blog about Monument Cafe every time I head south, but it's one of my favorite traditions when I drive home. 35 South, exit 262; 35 North, exit 261. The Austin Avenue cafe is all about local, seasonal, fresh food and it's a nice way to break up the 5-hour drive to San Antonio.
This time around I had to snap some shots of their on-site herb garden that they pull from daily.
Rosemary, basil, thyme, and mint all flourish in the direct sun right behind the restaurant.
It really has me thinking I want to plant a vegetable garden in my backyard. Maybe if I go to class at NorthHaven Gardens I can figure that out this fall.

  1. I took one of Leslie's classes at NGH last January. She is amazing. She literally knows everything about veggie gardening in Dallas.

  2. That's so good to hear. I think I'm going to do it.
