Austin: Hope & Glory Pastry

I mentioned in my last post that in my room at the St. Cecilia were the most savory sweet gooey caramels. We went bonkers over them. The three-bite morsels with sea salt that had already melted into the candy were hand wrapped in brown wax paper and bow-tied at each end with turquoise string (the same color that runs throughout the hotel).
The front desk told us that local pastry company Hope and Glory was commissioned to make the caramels especially for the hotel, but they can be ordered for 50 cents each by calling owner Jesse Kelly Landes. Landes only uses unprocessed ingredients for her sweets and all the eggs, flour, milk, and sugar used come from Central Texas. Pictured above are her Magic Bars which look worth buying, too.
